How everything has been started

Church of the Living God in Transcarpathia took its rise since 1984 when a young Christian Sergiy Balyuk came to Roma camp in Mukachevo from Chervonograd.

The Lord put the great love to Roma people into his heart and called him to Transcarpathia to start a church among those people. Roma took the Gospel with enthusiasm, and a Church, the name of which was based on the passage from the Bible: 1 Ti. 3:15, was borne in the camp. After about 12 years, in April 1992, Sergiy Balyuk started evangelizing Ukrainian population of Mukachevo too, having a vision to start a Ukrainian Church of the Living God. After some years 10 Ukrainian and Roma churches were founded in the western region of Ukraine. On March 8, 1996, those churches formed the United Christian Evangelic Church of the Living God, which was headed by Sergiy Vasylyovych Balyuk who was bishoped by the laying on of the hands. In the beginning of 1999 God gave Sergiy Balyuk a vision that by the beginning of 2000 in every regional center of Transcarpathia there would be a separate Church of the Living God (by that time in Mukachevo, Uzhgorod, Beregovo and Vynogradovo there were functioning churches and groups of Christians regurlarly gathered in Mizhgirya, Volovets and Tyachevo).
At an appointed date bishop's vision came true and nowadays UCECLG amounts to 62 churches among which there are 30 Roma churches.
Now the Union has a wide vision of missionary work and functions in three provinces of Ukraine (Lvivska, Rivnenska, Vinnytska provinces) and abroad: in Turkey, Germany, Italy, Portugal and Hungary.
The United Christian Evangelic Church of the Living God also has its newspaper «Stairs» which comes out month five years running. You can read about our printing in more details HERE.

Annually the following events take place in our Union: Christian, prayer, women's conferences, Western-Ukrainian leadership conference (every fall), leadership seminars, evangelizing concerts, tent ministries and missionary journeys. And also - pastors' meetings, water baptism and appointment of the elders and pastors.
Besides, every week, on Monday at 9.20 p.m. and on Tuesday at 11.00 a.m. you can watch the evangelizing TV-program «On the way to eternity» on M-studio channel.
